Privacy Policy
Look, we're not Amazon, alright? There's nowhere on the site that collects your credit card details. Or your address. Or your real name. We do collect your email address if you use the forums and some of our widgets, but we don't do anything with it (unless we need to contact you personally; but we don't send adverts and we certainly don't pass it on to any other body). So what's the point in having a privacy policy?
We'd like you to know that, as with every other Web site you visit on the Internet, we do collect some data about you. Each time you download a file from us - be it a page of text or a graphic - your IP address is logged, together with some very basic other details: which page referred you to whatever it is you're looking at, which operating system you're running, and which browser you're using. Each action is a line in a text file on our server.
Every Web site does this.
What we don't do is connect the dots. We don't follow you round the site; there's no facility for us to look at you and follow you round from point of entry to point of exit. Some Web sites do that, but not us. All we do is collect numbers; we can tell how many people viewed each page, how many people come from Latvia, and how many people are still using Netscape. The forum does track who's looking at each page at any given moment, but this information isn't kept.
Can you feel the love?
