Koko Gets Kittens For Her Birthday

For her 44th birthday, Koko received a very special gift that she was very excited about. Little kittens! And the kittens loved Koko just as much as she loves playing with them. This gorilla has never managed to have babies - all mating attempts with other gorillas failed - but there is nothing wrong with her maternal instincts. While stroking the kittens, she signs the word "baby" with a big gorilla smile.
